If you need an upgrade fitting to an instrument, I have fitting partners that can do this for you to the highest standard. Shipping to USA: We now have access to a PDDP service where tariff can be prepaid (12.7% + 0.50) to avoid delays and excessive processing costs when they arrive at USA customs.

For a module or kit, tracked & signed 5 day shipping to customs facility is usually used: Europe: 12 GBP, USA/Canada: 18 GBP, Israel: 19 GBP, Australia: 19 GBP. VFD modules are usually 2 GBP extra shipping.

Roland Replacement Keyboard Flexible PCB

A keyboard repair kit for the Roland JD-800, U20, D5, Rodgers C5xx/C6xx Organs that replaces the original flexible contact PCB with latest exotic technology. The improvements to the design allow the use of old contacts provided that they have been cleaned. Roland JD-800

Roland JD-800 Keyboard Repair Kit consisting of Flexible PCB, transition board & label. We can provide a soldered main board connector if you are able to identify what type of flexible circuit or white flat cable you have, see article Roland JD-800 Keyboard PCB Installation under heading “Identification”. We are unable to provide a new after touch connector, this has to be removed from the old transition PCB if you want after touch function to work.

Roland SuperJX Replacement Displays

For JX-10 and MKS-70 both OLED and VFD options are available. For JX-8P only OLED is supported due to the very close fit of the display board to the front panel.

For SuperJX displays, very detailed fitting guides are provided to make it as straightforward as possible and DIY options are available. Contact us for the guide prior to ordering.

All replacement displays work with original Roland firmware, however, Vecoven firmware upgrade is required to take advantage of the enhanced two line display features. All of the display related components are replaced by the new module. The notorious FIP coil, VFD, transistors, Micro-controller, Latch IC and capacitors are no longer required.

Very detailed instructions are provided for a straightforward installation, also includes techniques, recommendations and design rationale.

JX10 VFD Module – 230 GBP

For stunning performance and eye candy whilst keeping the look and feel of the instrument within its original design intent. As well as bitmap fonts, it contains a feature to emulate the original starburst display using vector graphics known as anniversary code that can be turned on through the menu.

It is an assembly that is attached to the JX10 Display Board. Includes VFD and mounting screws. Replaces all display related components prone to failure: FIP coil, VFD, Microcontroller, Latch IC & capacitors.

JX10 OLED Module – 140 GBP

An OLED character display that is a great lower cost option than a replacement VFD. With Vecoven firmware and “GU280” support enabled, it presents the same enhanced information as the VFD version but in 40×2 character format, white on black for best contrast. Note that the illumination is not as competent as the VFD because the window on the SuperJX is geared for VFD and is designed for “hidden until lit”. If careful attention to cleaning the window is made, it still looks modern and sharp.

A single all in one assembly that is attached to the JX10 Display Board with mounting screws. Replaces all display related components prone to failure: FIP coil, VFD, Microcontroller, Latch IC & capacitors.

MKS70 VFD Kit – 240 GBP

The ultimate quality display experience that the SuperJX deserves. Uses a graphic VFD to emulate different layouts and fonts for the very best usability. The VFD is in keeping with the original design of the SuperJX. As well as bitmap fonts, it contains a feature to emulate the original starburst display using vector graphics known as anniversary code that can be turned on through the menu.

A full kit comprising of all cables and mounting hardware for the MKS70. The VFD attaches to the Display Board and a new PCB attaches to the casing using spacers. Replaces all display related components prone to failure: FIP coil, VFD, Microcontroller, Latch IC & capacitors.

MKS70 OLED Module – 140 GBP

A cost-effective module specially designed to adapt OLED to the MKS70. Straightforward fit with prepared wiring that minimises disassembly and soldering as much as possible. Replaces all display related components that are prone to failure: FIP coil, VFD, Microcontroller, Latch IC & capacitors.

Note that the illumination is not as competent as VFD. This is because the window on the SuperJX is geared for VFD and is designed for “hidden until lit”. However OLED improves on LCD by having high contrast ensuring a clean display.
It is however, good performance and gives enhanced functionality that the Vecoven software exploits for VFD using just a 40 character by 2 line display. The very best results can be achieved by ensuring that the window is thoroughly cleaned to get rid of the “soft focus” effect. Like all other displays, works with original Roland software.

JX8P OLED Module – 140 GBP

An OLED character display that with Vecoven SuperJX Flash and “OLED DISPLAY” support enabled, it presents a 26 character x 2 line enhancement using a 40 x 2 display. Note that the illumination is not as competent as the VFD because the window is geared for VFD and is designed for “hidden until lit”. If careful attention to cleaning the window is made, it still looks modern and sharp.

A single all in one assembly that is attached to the Switch Board 1 with mounting screws. Replaces all display related components: FIP coil, VFD, Microcontroller, Latch IC & capacitors.

VFD Power Brick

For users that want to significantly reduce power supply current when using a VFD kit, a blank PCB is available to allow conversion of mains to low voltage for the display PCB. The installation guide shows the two additional components that are needed to build it.

Items ordered are all sourced and custom made to order, in very low volume. For the very best reliability, all parts are brand new from approved distributors where they can be traced back to original manufacturers. We can supply a receipt on request (non VAT, Sole Trader only).

VAT is not charged on these prices, but VAT and fees has to be paid if imported into your country.

Printed Circuit Boards have traces of non corrosive flux present as part of a “no clean” process. Cleaning is avoided so that coating is not damaged on SMD components that would otherwise make them vulnerable to moisture.
