Yamaha TX802 is a superb classic FM Synthesis module with a huge amount of flexibility that surpasses the DX7IIFD. It is a great workhorse of a synth with a really high quality sound. The Super Synth projects OLED is a really nice quality addition to the synthesizer.
Roger Vaz took the plunge and ordered an OLED display to try, with what turned out to be fabulous results!

OLED Availability
If you want one of these displays and up to the job of fitting it, I am happy to supply one. See my availability page for details. It is normally supplied as part of the JX10 or JX8P kits and was specially made to order. It has a very thin construction, small dimensions and a US2011 controller. The SuperJX applications were very tricky due to space requirements, so needed these characteristics. See this guide to using our standard 40×2 OLED module.
Fitting Notes
A full step by step guide is not provided here because it is so simple to do. Obviously you must be comfortable with desoldering and soldering the wires from old to new module.

The OLED display is a drop in replacement for the existing display. Simply de-solder the existing wires and re-solder them into pins 1 to 14 on the new OLED display.
When fitting, make sure that metalwork does not touch any traces or connections on the display, if in doubt, use a plastic washer/insulation. In this installation we did not think it was necessary.
The new OLED is slimmer than the old display so the face of it stands a little further back from the front panel but it not that noticeable. It cannot be adjusted because of the metalwork arrangement.
